Virtual Race FAQ

Garmin Virtual Marathon FAQ

Do I have to do my virtual race on April 23?
Absolutely not. The Garmin Olathe Marathon virtual race option is your race, do it on your time.

Where do I run my virtual race?
Anywhere you like. We don’t set the course for your virtual race. You set the course. You’ve probably got a training route already set. Use that one or find a new one. Just be sure to keep with your local and/or state guidelines for social distancing during this time.

How do I get my race T-shirt, bib and medal?
The race packet – which includes the T-shirt, bib and medal – will be mailed to the address you used to sign up after April 23. Race packet can also be picked up during the Race Expo on April 21-22.

Is there a deadline to enter the Virtual Garmin Olathe Marathon?
The deadline to register for the Garmin Virtual Marathon is April 15. You can register all the way up to the completion date.

Is there a deadline to complete my virtual race?
It’s your race. Do it on your time.

How do I let you know I’ve completed my race?
There is no official form or submission needed after completion of your race. The virtual race is done on the honor system, and we trust that you will complete your race on your own time. At the same time, we’d sure love to see all of our runners share their run on our social media platforms. To do so, take a quick picture after you’ve run your race and post it on the Facebook event and/or Twitter using the #OzRun and #GarminVirtual hashtags. You’re also more than welcome to e-mail a photo to us at marathon@olathe.org.

Can I do my race on a treadmill?
Of course. We know that some don’t have the ability to get out or don’t feel comfortable going outside their home complete their race. You are more than welcome to complete your race however you feel safe and comfortable with.
