Message to Runners

Due to the rapidly developing novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, the Garmin Marathon, scheduled for April 18, has been cancelled. The welfare of our running community is always our top priority and we’re exercising extreme caution in our efforts to prevent the potential spreading of the coronavirus.

All registrations for the 2020 Garmin Marathon have been switched to the virtual race option. We know how hard everyone was training for this year’s race and we want to make sure you get rewarded for all of your hard work.

The Garmin Marathon Virtual is a virtual challenge to help you get out, move and empower yourself that can all be accomplished at any location. Finish your virtual race and get a great medal, race T-shirt and a bib to capture those memories, all while continuing your commitment to a healthy lifestyle.

If you don’t want your registration switched to the virtual race option and would rather defer your registration to the 2021 Garmin Marathon or get a refund, please contact marathon@olathe.org for further instructions.

Thank you all for your understanding. The decision to cancel the 2020 Garmin Marathon was not easy. We truly appreciate each and every one of you and look forward to seeing you at next year’s Garmin Marathon on April 17, 2021.
