2021 CenterWell Senior Walk
The newest addition to the Garmin Olathe Marathon is for anyone 65 and over and is sponsored by CenterWell.
The Garmin Olathe Marathon has become an institution in Olathe. The marathon, half marathon and 10K races draw more than 3,000 runners each year.
A few years ago, we added the Munchkin Marathon and Family Run where the younger runners could run the first 25 miles of their race in the weeks leading up to the event and finish their final mile on race day.
Now, it’s time to introduce another great addition to the whole Garmin Olathe Marathon experience.
Thanks to our friends at CenterWell, we’ll be debuting the Senior Walk at this year’s Garmin Olathe Marathon. CenterWell is all about senior-focused care and that is exactly what they have in mind in sponsoring the brand-new Senior Walk.
Following the start of the marathon, half marathon and 10K, our registered walkers will make their way around the gorgeous Garmin World Headquarters and finish just around the corner from the start/finish line of the Garmin Olathe Marathon. The start time is set for 9:30 a.m.
The one-mile course gives those 65 and older an opportunity to join in on the Garmin Olathe Marathon fun and is yet another way for them to stay active. Registrants will receive a T-shirt, race bib and medal for their efforts. All for just $20.
Register today and be a part of this cool new event at one of the region’s marquee running events.
Packet pickup for the Senior Walk will take place from 4 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4 and from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5 at the Ball Event Center, 21350 W. 153rd St.
